Yeah, oh man, the stories on that guy are endless. I remember being out with him at a bar (only went out with him once, because that guy can drink), and this cute blonde step beside him to order a shot of whatever, and Crump-Dawg grabbed her arm. At this point I'm thinking, 'Man, he must be drunk to be grabbing this chick's arm', but no sooner did I think this thought, did he turn to me and grunt in that raspy voice of his, "This is the nurse from my last stay in the hospital."

She extended her hand to me and said, "We didn't think he was going to make it. Hi. My name is [can't remember]."

So, yeah, he was by far the funniest guy, but moreso from a 'tragedy from comedy' sort of way, I think.

A little bitch/rant session here.

How are any of the films nominated above for the Indy spirit awards "truly indy" if they use A list actors and are funded by the usual suspects?

My point is that there is not a high profile festival or outlet to show truly independent work other than maybe Youtube.

Seriously, art is dead. Long live the countryclub! We all must struggle to become members - not based on merit, hardwork or telling a solid story - but through connections, nepotism, and just plain having money already. Because, you can be a hack but if you have money - you can attract the most unlikely stars. Not to mention - obtain a distribution deal for an otherwise, horrid genre film that might tackle a psuedo-subversive subject matter that supposedly doesn't play well in Middle America!

And what - Studio films do play well in Middle America? What about the last 2 years, where movie audience attendance has fallen?

Could it have anything to do with how quality has fallen in the world of remakes - recuperation of bad TV pilots?

I lament the death of art within film as it now makes up 2% or less of all films distributed.

And as the state cuts funding for art in general, the intelligence of the world will fall to the level of barbarity once again.

The commodity never sleeps, long live the price, use exchange value and long live sensationalism, boredom and superficiality!

Long live stereotypes and enforced dogma on how good the free market is - Death to freedom of expression, death to experimentation, death to freedom of movement and death to conversation, critical thinking and pleasure!

Hello new world order, built on the bones of the old.
