Johnny Williams Scored a Theme for Sunday Night Football, and You Can Listen to It Here

Happy Friday er'rybody. Just a quick post today. Over on Aintitcool.com a link is up to the new John Williams theme for ABC's "Sunday Night Football". For reasons unknown to me, the execs at ABC decided to move "Monday Night Football" to ESPN and make "Sunday Night Football" their big primetime TV sports event. As a result they've plunked down some sweet Network cash for a new John Williams score. To take a listen to the score, click here. I like it, but not as much as his "Meet the Press" theme music. Most Sunday mornings, Russert's show doesn't live up to that music.

Anyway, Peggy and I are off to see Arianna Huffington speak at Agnes Scott College tonight. I'll let you know how it went. Have a good weekend.

You think Williams ever just goes into a studio with absolutely nothing written, points at the brass section and says "All right, dorks. Give me something Williams-y. I don't care what, just play it as loud as you possibly can."

Because that's what I hear when I listen to this theme. I used to play trumpet as a kid and this theme conjures images of me forcing my liver out of its cage, up through chest, into the throat, out my mouth, into the trumpet, and finally out of the trumpet where it would land on the floor a bloody mess.

Even with Tom Brady, I'm worrried about the Patriots' chances against the the AT-AT walkers.

I want Danny Elfman to write some football music!

It's totally the Imperial March with a little bit of the all right thrown in. Did that make sense? No? Well, how about this:

Arianna Huffington? Yuck. I just got back from SC/NC yesterday (although I told my work I got laid over in Charlotte and wouldn't be coming in until today [snicker]), and my dad had one of them Ann coulter books. I was very disappointed. I tried to talk sense into him, but it's like trying to talk sense into a liberal, too, they just won't listen.
