The Geto Boys WISH They Were as Hard as Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman hosted SNL this past Saturday. I missed it. As soon as I saw they were opening the show with yet another bit of criminally weak Bush-related "political satire" featuring more of Will Forte's tone deaf impression, and because I knew that Natalie Portman (not an actress previously known for her comedic ability) was hosting, I thought for sure this would be yet another forgettable (if not awful) episode of the show. But over the past couple days, this clip's been making the rounds on the internet. It's the pixie-looking Natalie Portman, still growing her hair out from V for Vendetta, doing the hardest kind of hardcore "gangsta" rap. In the same vein as the uber-hilarious gangsta raps Chris Parnell does sometimes on Weekend Update, this short features Portman cursing a blue streak, slapping cast members, pushing away an autograph-seeking child dressed as Amidala, smashing bottles over her own head, and looking "hard" and a little insane in general. Pretty funny. Take a gander.

I guess youtube put that back up. They had removed it yesterday. Anyhow, yeah, this is a very funny video. At times you can see Portman almost laughing because she's not buying her own tough act.

Sorry, ya'll. As Heath predicted, the link doesn't work anymore. NBC wants you to go to their site to view it (and their ads posted beside it) instead. I went to the NBC site Heath posted in the comments (isn't it annoying how blogger won't allow long links to post in the comments section?), but the movie won't play for me there. I don't know why. If you still want to see it, try going to the NBC site and clicking on videos and see what happens for you. Anyway, more blog later.

if anyone can sign in as anonymous....i'm not sure I understand the point of the word verification at the bottom of the comment section....is that so they can verify that you're inded on the internet? Can someone please explain?

It's just to stamp down on spam comments. A lot of blogs that are either selling something or feature only links to other websites that are selling something, will spam comments throughout the blogosphere in hopes of drumming up hits. With word verification, they can't do that, or at least it's harder. I may turn it off again soon and see if the whole spam comment thing's slacked off a bit. When I first started this thing, I got a couple a day before I went the word verification route.

The link should work. It's from nbc's site... make sure you copy in the entire URL which will probably get cut off again like it did in my earlier post. make sure it ends with natalieraps.shtml:
